Department Description and Responsibilities:

The ESG department is responsible for enabling accurate, timely, and auditable Environmental, Social, and Governance reporting and decision support. A key focus is accelerating decarbonisation and reporting ambitions by improving the way ESG data is collected, enriched, processed, and delivered to stakeholders. This role strengthens ESG’s capability to automate and industrialise data flows and reporting outputs, reducing manual effort while improving consistency, traceability, and cost efficiency.

Project Description:

The ESG team is driving several high-impact automation initiatives related to recurrent tasks that need to be executed regularly. The goal for this mission is to analyze the requirements to achieve these automatisations and implement the solutions.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Analyze current ESG reporting processes and identify automation opportunities that reduce manual effort and improve reliability and auditability.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations from Azure data sources towards reporting/publishing targets (Power BI, Tangelo, and PowerPoint outputs).
• Implement monitoring, logging, and basic data quality controls to ensure stable, repeatable ESG reporting cycles.
• Power BI scenario automation: Translate scenario requirements into repeatable automated runs, reducing manual steps and supporting fast iterations and consistent outputs.
• Materials & transport data collection (upstream & downstream): Design a scalable enrichment approach to add distances and transport modes (air/road/water) to site-provided material flows.
• Implement a pragmatic workflow or lightweight interface to capture route inputs (origin/destination, mode) and produce standardized distance outputs suitable for emissions calculations.
• Tangelo integration for annual reporting: Implement an automated feed from internal systems to Tangelo, reducing Excel-based intermediate steps.
• Ensure consistent metric definitions and an auditable trail of transformations used in published ESG tables and figures.
• Automation of MT PowerPoint pack creation: Automate export of approved ESG figures into a PowerPoint template.
• Documentation & handover: Produce clear technical documentation (data lineage, transformation logic, runbooks) so the ESG team can operate the solution sustainably.

Technical Profile Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in data engineering: designing, building, testing, and maintaining data pipelines and data flows from multiple sources to analytics/reporting outputs.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Azure data platform exposure.
• Strong SQL skills; ability to implement maintainable transformations and validated datasets for reporting.
• Experience with API-based integration to connect internal systems with reporting platforms.
• Power BI knowledge: understanding of what’s required to deliver reliable datasets/models for BI consumption.
• Nice-to-have: scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and/or CI/CD exposure for data solutions.

• Able to translate ESG stakeholder needs into pragmatic, supportable technical solutions.
• Structured problem solver who can work with imperfect inputs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
• High attention to detail, with a focus on auditability and consistency of reported ESG figures.

Methodology/Certification Requirements:

• Experience working in an enterprise environment with security and policy constraints.
• Familiarity with Agile/iterative delivery.
• Nice-to-have: relevant Azure certification(s) or equivalent demonstrable experience.

Language Proficiencies:

Fluent English (written and spoken).

Contract Details:

• Start: August
• Initial contract: 3 months (extension possible)
