For a client, we are looking for a strategic PMO.

Start date: As soon as possible

Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension

Location: Brussels

Required language skills: French, Dutch, English

Responsibilities

• Centralize and coordinate project management, providing services ranging from methodological support to strategic oversight.
• Act as the owner of cross-functional governance processes, tools, and quality control, and serve as a consultant/support partner for operational teams and project managers.
• Determine the project type and verify the nature of the request to ensure it is clearly distinguished from RUN activities.
• Monitor database updates and ensure quality control of entries made by project managers.
• Consolidate the overall agency-wide timeline to anticipate resource conflicts and identify systemic inter-project risks.
• Prepare and facilitate PMB meetings, ensure smooth discussions, and keep conversations focused on strategic issues.
• Verify the completeness, structure, and overall consistency of documents before submission to governance bodies.
• Integrate regular project updates for the PMB and produce reporting and analysis for the PMB.
• Stay informed of moderate deviations and prepare arbitration files in the event of major deviations.
• Develop project management capabilities within the organization and ensure lessons learned document both successes and challenges.

Required Qualifications

• Strong PMO expertise with a solid business-oriented mindset.
• Ability to understand the specific context of a regulatory organization.
• Affinity with scientific-type projects.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring to transfer knowledge and contribute to improving project management maturity.

Desired Skills and Certifications

• Experience in methodological support and the development of project management skills.
• Ability to use tracking tools such as WBS, Gantt charts, Risk Matrices, and Issue Logs.
• Proficiency in using MS Planner and its PPM layer.

This role is essential for actively supporting project managers in learning the methodology, guiding them in the use of tools, and transforming lessons learned from past projects into organizational knowledge.
