AI Engineer for Data Insights and Analytics Platform

Objective of the Job:
The key responsibility of the AI Engineer in our Azure platform team is the development of AI enablers and capabilities, which can then be utilized by our data product and data science development teams to enhance the delivery of their AI use cases. You would be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining AI features and architectural blueprints for the platform and ensuring that these solutions are scalable, secure, cost-effective, and easy to use by development teams. You would also help to set expectations in terms of best practices, safeguards, governance, and quality control. You would partner with data engineers, data scientists, solution architects, platform automation engineers, and product managers to develop AI solutions that will answer the needs of business teams and internal teams (Dev-AI accelerators). You would primarily leverage the main technologies of our platform (Azure and Databricks) to build robust, cloud-native solutions that can integrate with existing systems. You would also align your work with organizational safeguards to ensure that AI tools and solutions implemented meet required standards of governance and approval.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent through experience.
- Between 3-7 years of relevant IT work experience.
- Demonstrable understanding of AI and Machine Learning concepts and an awareness of the latest AI technologies.
- Proven experience with incorporating AI functionalities into cloud solutions.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Ability to lead/contribute to the reference architectures in your own domain.
- Ensure that cost implications of technical components are factored into your designs.
Technical Experience Required:
- Between 3-7 years of relevant IT experience.
- Experience of complex IT landscapes and large organizations.
- Strong experience with Azure or another commercial cloud platform (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Experience with Databricks (including Unity Catalog).
- Experience with existing AI features and functionalities available in modern cloud platforms and/or Databricks.

Preferable Experience:
- Experience in multinational or large-scale organizations.
- Exposure to retail or supply chain environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes.
- Experience with resolving complex technical challenges related to infrastructure, scalability, and governance of AI solutions.
- Experience with existing AI features in Databricks.
- Experience in the Retail industry.
- Experience with Python, Git (GitHub and GitHub Actions), and Terraform.
- Awareness of Agile methodologies (Scrum, DevOps) or SAFe.
