Power BI Expert

Key Responsibilities:
- KPI Reporting & Automation:
- Build and automate end-to-end KPI reporting for Group Controlling stakeholders.
- Translate business questions into clear, decision-ready dashboards aligned with our performance framework.
- Maintenance & Continuous Improvement of Existing Dashboards:
- Support the maintenance of the existing Group Controlling Power BI portfolio.
- Monitor adoption and usage (e.g., via Power BI Usage Metrics) and proactively propose improvements based on real user behavior.
- Semantic Models, Visualisation & Data Quality:
- Rationalise Power BI semantic models by consolidating overlapping datasets, clarifying ownership, documenting relationships, and improving refresh performance.
- Optimise visualisations to simplify, standardise, and align them with design and accessibility guidelines for intuitive and consistent reports.
- Lead data cleaning and data quality activities upstream of the reports, in close coordination with data owners.
- Stakeholder & Bridge Role Between Business and IT:
- Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders (Controlling, IT, other departments), turning sometimes fuzzy needs into concrete reporting solutions.
- Engage with IT and Data teams on databases, dataflows, gateways, and Power BI governance (workspaces, roles, access).
Requirements:
- Solid hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop (semantic models, DAX, Power Query, workspaces, apps, dataset refreshes, gateways).
- Proven experience designing, automating, and maintaining KPI dashboards in a corporate or group-wide context, ideally in Controlling, Finance, or IT governance.
- Strong skills in data modelling, semantic model optimisation, and data cleaning (performance tuning, naming conventions, documentation).
- Ability to work autonomously: identify needs, propose solutions for both data structure and visualisation, and drive them to delivery.
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable talking to both business stakeholders (controllers, managers, executives) and IT/Data engineers.
- Fluent in English; a good working knowledge of French and/or Dutch is a strong asset, German is a plus given our collaboration context.
