Role Description
The Project Manager Operations – Building IT Systems (BITS) is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of projects within the BITS domain, including physical security and facility-related technologies such as video surveillance, fire detection, intrusion detection, and access control systems. The Project Manager will coordinate business, technical, operational, and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery in accordance with agreed scope, timeline, budget, quality standards, and governance requirements. This role requires strong expertise in complex IT environments, including enterprise platforms, network services, cloud technologies, workplace solutions, and physical security systems. Depending on organizational priorities, the Project Manager may also be assigned to projects within other domains of the Operations division.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead BITS projects from initiation through delivery and closure, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Define and manage project scope, objectives, and deliverables in close collaboration with management, stakeholders, architects, and technical leads.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, risks, and communication plans in line with company standards.
- Manage project budgets, including recommendations for adjustments in accordance with established governance processes.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.
- Communicate project expectations, progress, risks, and issues clearly and regularly to stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Ensure that project and service scope, roles, and responsibilities are clearly defined, agreed upon, and documented.
- Act as the primary point of contact for coordination with the client, partners, and internal IT teams.
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation plans and escalating when required.
- Report regularly to the Team Lead and key stakeholders on project status, risks, dependencies, and decisions.
- Define non-functional requirements for the run phase, including service and support.
Conformity Criteria
- Minimum 15 years of professional IT experience, including at least 10 years in project management.
- Minimum 10 years of demonstrable project management experience in projects involving at least two of the following domains: video surveillance, fire detection, intrusion detection, access control systems, and workplace services.
- Fluent communication in Dutch, French, and English (spoken and written). Dutch or French as a mother tongue or at least C level, the other language at least B2 level. For English at least level B2.
- Available to work in a hybrid model, including a minimum of two days per week on-site in Brussels.
- The candidate must be available to start the assignment from 03/08/2026.
Evaluation Criteria
- Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stream projects, including the use of structured project planning, scheduling, dependency management, risk management, and delivery tracking practices.
- Proven experience delivering projects requiring coordination across at least five IT delivery teams, managing interdependencies and ensuring alignment of project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience delivering projects involving enterprise technologies and workplace services, including one or more of the following areas: workplace transformation, infrastructure services, collaboration platforms, endpoint management, cloud services, or related technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects in complex and evolving environments, including changing requirements, multiple stakeholder groups, competing priorities, and significant delivery risks.
- Experience facilitating Steering Committees, project governance forums, and executive stakeholder meetings, including preparation of status reporting, decision papers, and risk and issue escalation.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, executive communications, presentation delivery, and production of project documentation within large-scale transformation or technology projects.
