Start Date: 1st September 2026
End Date: 31st December 2026 (with potential for extension)
Location: 100% on-site in Diegem
Job Description:
We are looking for several IT Software Solutions Engineers to support the development, maintenance, and modernization of internal business applications. Our current focus is on professionals with expertise in IBM i (AS/400), ARCAD, Java, and Angular technologies, who can combine strong technical capabilities with business analysis and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business & Requirements Analysis:
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for new and existing applications.
- Participate in discussions around business initiatives, strategies, and operational needs.
- Act as a bridge between business and IT teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives.
- Software Development & Continuous Improvement:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy internal software applications.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process optimization, and system enhancements.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution and improvement of existing applications and development practices.
- Application Maintenance & Support:
- Monitor, maintain, and enhance existing software solutions.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective resolutions.
- Ensure optimal application performance, security, and scalability.
- Innovation & Knowledge Sharing:
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies, development methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and ways of working.
- Share knowledge within the team and support colleagues in their professional growth.
- Experiment with new technologies, including AI-based solutions, to improve efficiency and quality.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with developers, business teams, project managers, and external partners.
- Participate in sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Contribute to a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Documentation & Training:
- Create and maintain technical and functional documentation.
- Support end users and colleagues through training and knowledge transfer activities.
Candidate Profile:
- Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Experience:
- Experience in software development and/or IT analysis.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience maintaining and enhancing business-critical applications.
- Demonstrated ability to grow and adapt in a dynamic IT environment.

Leadership Responsibilities:
- No direct people management responsibilities.
- Expected to coach, mentor, and support colleagues when required.
- Opportunity to lead smaller projects and process improvement initiatives.
Work Environment & Practical Expectations:
- On-Site Presence:
- 100% on-site attendance is the standard expectation. Remote or hybrid working arrangements are generally not offered. Exceptions may only be considered when necessary to ensure effective knowledge transfer or operational continuity.
- On-Call Rotation:
- Participation in the on-call/standby rotation is mandatory. The supported applications are critical to business operations and require support outside standard office hours. Candidates must be willing to provide evening, night, and weekend support as part of a rotating schedule.
- Flexibility:
- A 4/5 working schedule is fully acceptable. Candidates working four days per week are welcome, provided they are physically present on-site during their working days.
