Senior Automation Engineer
Start Date: 3/8/2026
End Date: 31/12/2026 (with potential for extension)
Location: Diegem, 100% on-site
Key Responsibilities:
- Automation Engineering
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade automation solutions using Ansible.
- Build reusable Ansible roles, collections, playbooks, and automation frameworks.
- Develop and maintain standards for Infrastructure-as-Code and Automation-as-Code.
- Drive automation adoption across infrastructure and operational teams.
- Ensure automation solutions are version-controlled, tested, and documented.
- Infrastructure & Platform Automation
- Automate provisioning, configuration management, patching, and lifecycle management.
- Standardize Linux and Windows server deployments and configurations.
- Automate operational maintenance activities and system remediation tasks.
- Integrate automation with enterprise platforms and tooling ecosystems.
- Develop self-service capabilities where appropriate.
- Security, Compliance & Governance
- Automate security hardening and compliance checks.
- Support vulnerability remediation and security governance initiatives.
- Develop automated compliance reporting and evidence collection capabilities.
- Ensure solutions align with corporate security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support audit readiness and operational control frameworks.
- Resilience & Operational Excellence
- Improve operational resilience through automated recovery and remediation processes.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
- Reduce operational risk through standardization and automation.
- Implement monitoring and reporting for automation platform health and utilization.
- Drive continuous improvement across infrastructure services.
- Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with infrastructure, security, architecture, and application teams.
- Consult on automation opportunities across technology domains.
- Coach and mentor engineers on automation best practices.
- Contribute to technical standards, architecture reviews, and strategic initiatives.
- Act as a subject matter expert for enterprise automation technologies.

Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience designing and building enterprise-grade Ansible roles, collections, and automation frameworks.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for stakeholder management.
- Experience defining Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) standards and automating server deployments for both Linux and Windows platforms.
- Demonstrated track record of significantly reducing manual operational effort by building reusable Ansible roles, collections, or self-service tools.
- Hands-on experience automating security hardening, compliance checks, or vulnerability remediation.
- Experience in building automated recovery/remediation processes or supporting disaster recovery initiatives through automation.
- Experience acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), coaching/mentoring other engineers, and partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Strict discipline in ensuring all automation solutions are version-controlled (Git), thoroughly tested, and cleanly documented.
