ServiceNow ITOM - CMDB Specialist

Description:

  • Serve as the application owner for the ServiceNow ITOM Discovery implementation. Capture requirements for Discovery, Service Mapping, and Event Management, translating them into user stories and technical designs. Implement these requirements and ensure validation through testing and stakeholder engagement, including Configuration Managers and CI Class owners. Create update sets and manage necessary changes for releases. Ensure proper documentation and handover to support teams.
  • Maintain the quality of the ServiceNow ITOM implementation by adhering to best practices and utilizing out-of-the-box capabilities.
  • Act as an implementation consultant for the ServiceNow CMDB implementation. Collaborate with the application owner to identify and implement new features, such as new datasource integrations. Prepare user stories, technical designs, and implement them. Create update sets and manage necessary changes for releases. Ensure documentation updates and handover to support teams.
  • Be part of a ServiceNow team supporting and implementing multiple ServiceNow products.
  • Collaborate closely with the Configuration Manager, who is the process owner for Configuration Management, managing CMDB content and providing CMDB requirements.

Conformity Criteria:

  • Certifications: ServiceNow Administrator, CSDM-CMDB data foundations, and at least one CIS-ITOM Discovery.
  • Must work from within the EER.
  • Can work onsite in Brussels part-time.
  • Languages: English at level C.
  • 3 years of experience implementing ServiceNow CMDB & ITOM.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Excellent knowledge of ITIL & ITSM principles.
  • Expertise in preparing roadmaps for Configuration Management implementation, involving CMDB & ITOM capabilities.
  • Expertise in implementing ServiceNow ITOM: Discovery, Service Mapping, Event Management, MID server configuration, and deployment.
  • Minimum 3+ years of ServiceNow CMDB implementation and administration experience in an enterprise environment, including Service Graph connectors, datasource integrations, data policies, data certification, IRE, Reporting, CMDB Workspace.
  • Ability to apply ServiceNow components such as business rules, client scripts, UI policies and actions, UI pages and macros, script includes, catalog items, workflows, web services, reports, etc.
  • Expertise in implementing ServiceNow Digital Portfolio Management.
  • Expertise in eliciting user requirements and creating user stories to document them.
  • Expertise in creating technical designs on ServiceNow CMDB and ITOM.
  • Excellent knowledge of the ServiceNow CSDM model, with the ability to map the model to practical usage and explain it in non-expert terms to stakeholders for correct adoption.
  • Experience in maintaining applications, following vendor product evolutions, and providing third-line support for incidents and problems.
  • Strong documentation and verbal/written communication skills.
