Finance Data Analyst

Start Date: September

Location: Kapelle-op-den-Bos

Responsibilities:

• Detail and document requirements from the demand intake phase to enable BI Developers and Data Engineers to execute designs and builds.
• Understand the purpose and goals of requested data products and their business value.
• Collaborate with BI Developers and Data Engineers to build prototypes and ensure requirements are met.
• Design reporting data models, such as star schemas, to fit requirements.
• Work closely with the Finance department to clarify requirements and understand value creation.
• Align with IT application owners on the source data model and data provision methods.
• Translate and document requirements into high-level solution designs mapped to the current Data Platform architecture.
• Bridge the gap between Finance and the technical delivery team (BI Developers/Data Engineers).
• Test reports and data to ensure they meet requirements, using test scenarios in collaboration with analytics key users.
• Provide estimations (t-shirt sizing) for new features.
• Evaluate the impact of proposed solutions on operational budgets (load, refresh, etc.).

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Finance Data Analyst.
• Experience in finance processes, specifically in SAP (Product Costing, Universal Journal, Credit Risk, CO-PA, etc.).

Desired Skills:

• Data modeling: Ability to design facts and dimensions in medallion structure and translate business requirements into ready-to-develop designs.
• Testing skills to ensure data quality and source alignment.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with Cognos in a financial context.
• Proficiency in PowerBI, Databricks/Synapse, Analysis for Office, SAP BW, and BPC.

Language Proficiency:

Trilingual proficiency is preferred.
