Java Angular Developer

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Initial contract of 6+ months with possible extension

Location: Brussels, Belgium (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)

Languages: Dutch or French is mandatory, with a good knowledge of the second national language. English is also required.

  • Candidates must hold a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree.
  • Expert level required (7+ years of relevant professional experience).

Project Context

As part of a Legacy Application Modernization initiative, you will contribute to the complete redevelopment of existing applications originally built in Delphi. The objective is to deliver a modern application for budget management, replacing legacy solutions with a new technology stack based on Angular for the front end and Java/Spring for the back end.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the development of the new application.
  • Contribute to corrective and evolutionary maintenance.
  • Support application deployments to production.
  • Collaborate closely with functional and technical teams.
  • Participate in technical discussions, project meetings, and progress reviews.

Required Profile

  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing Java/Spring applications in a collaborative team environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Angular (v14+) development.
  • Experience with legacy application modernization or migration projects.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Java
    • Spring Framework
    • Angular
    • PrimeNG
    • Bootstrap
    • Maven
  • Experience with development tools:
    • IntelliJ IDEA
    • Visual Studio Code
  • Experience with REST and SOAP web services.
  • Familiarity with testing tools such as Postman and SoapUI.
  • Good knowledge of Git for source code management.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence.

Languages

  • Dutch or French is mandatory, with a good knowledge of the second national language.
  • English is required to participate in technical discussions and collaborate within a bilingual environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Delphi, allowing for a better understanding of the existing legacy code.
  • Awareness of application performance, security, and accessibility best practices.
