Purview & SharePoint Advanced Management (SAM) Specialist

Role Summary:

The Purview & SAM Specialist will serve as an internal implementation and governance expert for Microsoft 365 information protection, SharePoint governance, Copilot governance, reporting automation, and operational enablement. This role requires a balance of hands-on capabilities to configure, validate, and operate controls, as well as senior-level expertise to design governance patterns, challenge vendors, align stakeholders, and transfer knowledge into sustainable operations.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Microsoft Purview: Expertise in sensitivity labels, information protection, DLP, data discovery, auto-labelling, sensitive information types, trainable classifiers, Exact Data Match, and compliance/risk monitoring.
• SharePoint / OneDrive Governance: Proficiency in SharePoint Online administration, sharing controls, unique permissions, external access, lifecycle governance, metadata, hub architecture, search optimization, and SAM governance capabilities.
• Copilot and AI Governance: Experience in Copilot readiness, oversharing risk reduction, AI governance, DSPM for AI, AI-specific DLP controls, prompt/security boundary thinking, and controlled AI adoption.
• Security and Compliance: Knowledge of least-privilege access, app registration and permission models, sensitive governance data handling, auditability, incident/remediation workflows, and operational control design.
• Stakeholder Management: Ability to collaborate with IT, governance responsible persons, data engineers, Power BI responsible persons, SharePoint administrators, compliance/security stakeholders, and business/site responsible persons.

Requested Experience:

• Several years of hands-on experience in Microsoft 365 governance, compliance, SharePoint Online, or Purview implementation.
• Proven experience in implementing Microsoft Purview capabilities such as sensitivity labels, DLP, reporting, monitoring, and operational processes.
• Experience with SharePoint Online governance, SharePoint Advanced Management, oversharing analysis, external sharing governance, and permission remediation.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 Copilot or AI governance, ideally including DSPM for AI, oversharing remediation, and AI-specific compliance controls.
• Strong Power BI/reporting literacy and ability to work with data engineering teams on governed datasets and operational dashboards.
• Comfortable with a hybrid role that combines architecture, configuration, validation, governance design, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
