SAP Insurance Project Manager Position

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 4 months (until 31/12/2026)

Work Regime: Full-time – Fully remote

Location: Brussels

Role Overview:

The SAP Insurance Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a strategic SAP portal project with strong integration into the SAP insurance modules for policy, claims, finance, risk management, and reporting processes. The role ensures successful implementation of SAP solutions while maintaining alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, budget constraints, and project timelines. The Project Manager acts as the primary coordination point between business stakeholders, SAP implementation partners, enterprise architects, and technical delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end SAP implementation and transformation projects.
  • Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, budgets, and timelines.
  • Establish project governance and reporting structures.
  • Manage project plans and dependencies across multiple workstreams.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational change management procedures.

Business & Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with business owners across all insurance departments.
  • Facilitate workshops and decision-making sessions.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communication plans.
  • Resolve conflicts and drive timely decisions.

SAP Delivery Management

  • Lead SAP implementation.
  • Oversee delivery of SAP Portal with integration to SAP FS-PM, FS-CM, FS-CD, SAP BW / Datasphere / SAC, MDG, Business Partner.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Maintain project RAID logs.
  • Identify delivery risks and define mitigation plans.
  • Escalate critical issues through the governance structure.
  • Monitor vendor performance and contractual commitments.

Financial Management

  • Manage project budget and forecasts.
  • Approve project expenditures.
  • Track financial performance against approved business cases.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure adherence to project methodologies.
  • Establish quality gates and acceptance criteria.
  • Oversee testing strategy: SIT, UAT, Performance Testing, Cutover Testing.

Change Management & Adoption

  • Coordinate training and communication activities.
  • Ensure business readiness for go-live.
  • Support organizational change initiatives.
  • Drive user adoption and benefits realization.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Mandatory

  • 4+ years of project management experience.
  • 2+ years leading SAP projects.
  • Experience managing budgets exceeding €1 million.
  • Experience working with external system integrators.
  • Experience in SAP insurance transformations.

Preferred

  • Experience in export credit or reinsurance.
  • Experience with SAP Portal solution, SAP FS-PM, Msg.PM, SAP FS-CM, SAP FS-CD, SAP S/4HANA.

Technical Skills

  • SAP Insurance modules.
  • SAP ABAP experience.
  • SAP BTP experience.
  • SAP Solution Manager / Cloud ALM.
  • Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Power BI, Project Online / Planner.
