Role Purpose & Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a senior professional with a strong technical background and a proven track record in delivering impactful recommendations within matrix organizations. Your primary mission will be to provide high-impact, actionable, and clear recommendations to the CIO on critical technology directions, such as legacy modernization, application rationalization, and preparation for cross-border collaboration projects, all within fixed timelines. Success in this role is measured by the clarity, impact, pragmatism, and adoption of your analysis.

  • Bridge the gap between technology and strategy by leveraging your background in IT architecture or systems analysis.
  • Quickly dive into technical issues, extract core strategic questions, and formulate executive management insights.
  • Assemble and lead ad-hoc, cross-functional expert groups to solve strategic IT dilemmas, ensuring rapid alignment and concrete deliverable outcomes.

Language Requirements:

  • Dutch: Sound knowledge of English and at least one local language.
  • French: Sound knowledge of English and at least one local language.
  • English: Sound knowledge of English and at least one local language.

Required Experience / Knowledge:

  • At least 10 years of IT experience with a strong IT background.
  • Experience in Enterprise/Solution Architecture, IT Analysis, Tech Lead, or similar roles.
  • Strong understanding of modern IT paradigms, including Cloud computing, API-led connectivity, agentic AI, Data architectures, DevSecOps, and AI-driven cyber threats.
  • Experience in IT Strategy Consulting, internal Strategy Office, or Chief of Staff/Advisor role in a large IT organization is preferable.

Soft Skills & Mindset:

  • Former Architect/Analyst mindset with a current Strategist mindset.
  • Pragmatic strategist with the ability to deliver solid recommendations quickly.
  • Ability to influence without authority and build networks.
  • Strong executive communication skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint and memo-writing.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities, working in an environment with high autonomy and low formal structure.

Telework Expectation:

50% on-site and 50% homeworking from Belgium.
