Senior Scrum Master - ServiceNow

Role Description:

The Scrum Master will be a key reference in projects following an agile framework, specifically the Scrum methodology. The role involves ensuring the global understanding of the methodology by the project team and helping the team maximize project results. The Scrum Master will protect the team from internal and external distractions and ensure the proper use and application of the Agile Methodology. They will coach the project team, business lines, and stakeholders, explaining which interactions with the team are beneficial.

Responsibilities:

• Set up and facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review, Sprint Planning, Retrospective) and other meetings.
• Schedule and follow key steps of the methodology.
• Guarantee smooth use of the Scrum methodology and help the project team face any obstacles.
• Provide assistance or support to the Product Owner concerning the Product Backlog.
• Assist and support the team in delivering the Definition of Done (DoD), Sprint Backlog, etc.
• Track team capacity and velocity metrics for planning and progress purposes.
• Provide clear statuses to all stakeholders.
• Act as E2E feature delivery owner, ensuring delivery is well-prepared, tracked, reported, and completed on time.

Project Methodology and Coaching:

• Coach and challenge the project team.
• Help the project team face difficulties and promote gradual self-organization.
• Remove barriers to team effectiveness and protect the team from outside distractions.
• Create and track a delivery timeline.
• Follow up on delivery (e.g., setup Scrum of Scrums).
• Act as an ambassador of agile methods within the company.
• Report to superiors on the proper deployment of the Scrum methodology within projects.
• Manage risks and issues.

Language Requirements:

• Dutch: Native or French Fluent
• French: Native or Dutch Fluent
• English: Proficient and at least one local language

Agile Requirements:

Agile teams are cross-functional, with all required disciplines represented (analysis, development, testing, etc.). Team members are expected to take on other roles and contribute to other disciplines as needed.

Required Experience/Knowledge:

At least 5 years of relevant experience.

Technical Experience:

• Mandatory: Knowledge of agile reporting and follow-up tools (e.g., Rally), understanding of tooling on automated unit testing, automated functional testing, and continuous integration tooling, sound knowledge of software development and project management methodologies.
• Preferable: Sound knowledge of IT Architecture and ServiceNow.

Business Experience:

• Mandatory: Expert knowledge of agile methodology and techniques, expert project management skills to take up the role of (E2E) Feature Delivery Owner.

Soft Skills:

• The Scrum Master should embody the Agile spirit and act as a "servant leader," with a positive attitude, empathy, excellent communication skills, and a pragmatic approach.
