DevOps Coach / Tribe Release Engineer

Role Description:
We are looking for a talented and experienced DevOps Coach to enhance the DevOps capabilities of various squads. You will work hands-on with different teams to understand their unique needs and challenges, helping to define and implement a tailored DevOps roadmap for each squad. Your goal will be to foster a culture of continuous improvement, automation, and collaboration across the organization. Additionally, you will take on the role of Tribe Release Engineer, working closely with the current TRE to define and implement the release strategy within the Tribe.
Responsibilities:
- Assist product development teams in adopting best practices for developing, testing, deploying, and releasing applications.
- Collaborate with squads and other DevOps coaches to improve processes and identify key pain points.
- Facilitate relationships with tools teams and help them understand development team needs.
- Train teams on industry standards and propose improvements in areas such as software craftsmanship, trunk-based development, BDD/TDD, CI/CD, value stream mapping, cloud, Kubernetes, and containerization.
- Prepare and report on releases/changes and organize meetings.
Language Requirements:
- English: Very good knowledge
- French and/or Dutch: Optional but an important plus
Education:
Master’s degree or equivalent by experience
Experience and Knowledge Required:
- At least 6 years of relevant experience
- Experience in implementing continuous build, integration, and deployment systems
- Experience with various software development models and Agile frameworks
- Experience in administration, setup, and maintenance of continuous build and integration platforms
- Experience in Java development and build
- Familiarity with source code (SVN/Git) and artifact repositories (Nexus)
- Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with code scanning tools (Sonar / Fortify) is a plus
- Strong development profile with proven coaching experience and a good understanding of the SDLC
Business Experience:
- Thorough experience working in or with Agile development teams
- Experience in impact mapping, story mapping, and example mapping is preferable
- Experience with ServiceNow / Blueprism
