Overview:

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to support the operational side of a cloud-native platform. The focus is on day-to-day operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, automation, and documentation for Kubernetes-based environments, with a strong emphasis on AWS EKS and RKE2 clusters managed through Rancher. The engineer will work closely with the Product Owner, platform engineers, and application teams to ensure the platform is stable, secure, well-documented, and easy to operate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain Kubernetes platforms based on AWS EKS and Rancher-managed RKE2.
  • Support cluster health checks, upgrades, patching, capacity follow-up, and lifecycle activities.
  • Investigate alerts, incidents, and operational issues using logs, metrics, events, and command-line tooling, focusing on identifying underlying causes.
  • Perform and document Root Cause Analysis for significant incidents, including findings, corrective actions, and preventive improvement proposals.
  • Support AWS platform operations related to EKS, EC2, VPC, IAM, load balancing, DNS, and monitoring.
  • Maintain and improve monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Automate recurring operational tasks and contribute to more reliable, repeatable platform operations.
  • Collaborate with platform engineers, application teams, networking, security, and operations stakeholders.
  • Document known issues, troubleshooting steps, standard operating procedures, and improvement opportunities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in DevOps, cloud operations, platform operations, Linux engineering, or a similar technical role.
  • Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and cloud-native platform concepts.
  • Experience with AWS and Linux system administration.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals such as DNS, TLS, load balancing, routing, and firewalls.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, scripting, version control, and structured Root Cause Analysis.
  • Ability to write clear technical documentation and communicate effectively in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS EKS, Rancher, or RKE2.
  • Experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, Helm, GitOps, or infrastructure-as-code tooling.
  • Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, CloudWatch, LGTM, or similar observability tools.
  • Familiarity with container security, vulnerability scanning, secrets management, or policy enforcement.
  • Relevant Kubernetes or AWS certifications are a plus.
