Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a dynamic DevOps squad. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on automation, reliability, and solving complex operational challenges. You will work in an autonomous, cross-functional team where you directly influence delivery quality, security, and customer experience. You will be responsible for the full-service lifecycle—from onboarding customer requirements to operating mission-critical production systems used worldwide. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in large-scale distributed systems while collaborating with teams across a global ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Excellence

• Deploy software changes, patches, and releases across test and production environments.
• Prepare, test, present, and execute production changes, including participation in established change management processes.
• Perform occasional production maintenance activities outside business hours (approximately once per month).
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve operational incidents, ensuring timely escalation when required.
• Ensure high levels of availability, security, data integrity, and operational resilience through appropriate controls and validation mechanisms.
• Maintain operational documentation, deployment procedures, and audit evidence.

Platform Operations & Reliability

• Operate and maintain a mission-critical distributed platform deployed across multiple data centers, based on microservices and synchronous replication.
• Contribute to platform resilience, capacity planning, performance optimization, and disaster recovery preparedness.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve system reliability, observability, and operational efficiency.
• Participate in incident management and root-cause analysis activities.

DevOps & Continuous Delivery

• Design, maintain, and improve CI/CD and GitOps practices supporting the delivery lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions to improve quality, consistency, and efficiency.
• Participate in code, configuration, and deployment reviews to ensure resilience, consistency, and best practices.
• Promote automation, shift-left principles, and continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.

Security & Compliance

• Ensure deployments and operational activities comply with security, risk management, change control, and documentation standards.
• Contribute to vulnerability remediation, access control reviews, certificate management, and platform hardening activities.
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to maintain a secure operational environment.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Participate in planning, risk assessment, and production change review activities.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, automation, monitoring, and operational processes.
• Stay current with modern DevOps, SRE, cloud-native, and platform engineering practices.
• Share knowledge and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.

Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar role.
• Strong ownership mindset with the ability to work autonomously and drive improvements.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Customer-focused with strong attention to quality and detail.
• Effective team player capable of collaborating across technical domains.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
• Experience working in Agile environments is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt quickly in complex environments.

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.
• Strong Linux administration skills (Red Hat ecosystem preferred).
• Experience with modern software delivery using GitOps practices and automation practices; using tools such as Git, Jenkins, Docker, Ansible, ArgoCD, or equivalent.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python or similar languages.
• Experience supporting production systems and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
• Understanding of security fundamentals including SSL/TLS, certificates, authentication, and secure communications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of network architectures, protocols, and connectivity troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, routing concepts, and distributed systems networking.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with software development teams and investigate application-level issues.
