Senior Scrum Master for Operations – Platform Team

Start Date: 15/09/2026

End Date: 14/09/2027

Location: Brussels

Language Requirements: Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus

Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Coach two operational platform teams in their transition to a proactive, product-centric, agile way of working, focusing on automation and self-service within security boundaries.
  • Co-create a tailored agile method with each team, respecting strict security, compliance, and audit boundaries while delivering iterative delivery, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Help teams reframe their platform as a product with customers, a roadmap, outcomes, and value, rather than a backlog of operational requests.
  • Reinforce a culture of ownership, psychological safety, and continuous improvement by challenging and asking the right questions.
  • Integrate, operate, and contribute to a larger team of agile coaches and scrum masters implementing the product-centric mindset throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the appropriate cadence of ceremonies for each team, adapting events, artefacts, and roles to genuinely help the team deliver.
  • Coach team members and Product Owners on agile principles, Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban, or hybrid models, choosing what fits the operational reality.
  • Identify and remove impediments, focusing on friction created by security, compliance, and audit requirements; find creative ways to honor those requirements without losing flow.
  • Work closely with Platform Owners and teams on backlog refinement, prioritization, and translating operational demand into product outcomes.
  • Contribute to the broader agile community of practice and share lessons learned with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Solid, hands-on experience as a Scrum Master, including coaching teams through real transitions in non-greenfield environments.
  • Experience working with operational, platform, infrastructure, or similar teams, understanding their unique challenges.
  • Comfortable working under strict security, compliance, or audit constraints, viewing them as design parameters.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset, starting from the team’s context, diagnosing carefully, and designing a fitting way of working.
  • Fluent in Scrum, Kanban, and Lean thinking, knowing when to use which and when to combine them. Knowledge of the LeSS framework is a plus.
  • Excellent facilitator and coach, with strong listening skills, sharp questioning, and the ability to provoke thought.
  • Fluent communication in English; additional languages are a plus.

Exceptional interventions during outside working hours or weekends may be required.
