Senior Network Security Engineer

Location: Brussels

Languages: Dutch/French + English

Start Date: 28/09/2026

End Date: 27/09/2027

Responsibilities:

  • Operate within a team supporting 24/7 company activities.
  • Work in both IT and OT environments, ensuring diligent preparation and execution of changes.
  • Participate in the deployment and maintenance of IT systems.
  • Support colleagues in Belgium and other parts of Europe.
  • Engage with various networking aspects including routing, switching, and software.
  • Collaborate with other ICT teams and work independently when required.
  • Provide support to teammates and be open to standby roles.

Technical Environment:

  • Operate the entire network stack from LAN to WAN and from the datacentre to the cloud.
  • Work primarily in a Cisco environment, including Cisco ACI, MS Azure, Cisco SDWAN, Cisco ASR, ISR, catalyst, and nexus devices.
  • Engage with firewalls from Checkpoint and Palo Alto, Zabbix, Elastic, and ISE.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Background in computer science.
  • Proficient in Dutch or French and fluent in English.
  • In-depth knowledge of routing and switching protocols such as OSFP, ISIS, MP-BGP, MST.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and Cisco Wireless.
  • Familiarity with Python and/or Ansible for automation.
  • Knowledge of backend tools for monitoring, NAC, central syslog, TACACS, and RADIUS servers.
  • Understanding of firewall technologies.
  • Knowledge of ACI or Cisco SDWAN is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Own a car and be able to travel to Belgian locations when required.
  • Open to hybrid work after an initial full-time office period.
  • Willingness to pick up a standby role (max 1 week in 4).
