About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Expert to join one of our Agile teams within the Social Protection domain.

The domain consists of three Agile teams bringing together functional and technical analysts, Java and OutSystems developers, testers, and test automation engineers. As a Test Automation Expert, you will work closely with another Test Automation Engineer to further increase the quality, consistency and coverage of automated testing across multiple applications.

You will play a key role in establishing a uniform approach to test automation and will act as a technical reference for the Agile teams, while also coaching developers and other team members in basic test automation activities.

The Challenge

The domain consists of three key applications covering:

  • Member and contribution management
  • Case and payment management
  • Healthcare provider management

These applications are also made available to several other healthcare funds, each operating in its own environment and infrastructure. This requires dedicated and adapted automated test sets for each environment.

The current level of automated test coverage differs between applications. The objective is to significantly increase coverage and establish a uniform test automation approach based on Selenium and Cucumber.

Together with the other Test Automation Engineer, you will focus on:

  • Increasing the coverage of existing automated test suites
  • Implementing End-to-End (E2E) test automation within and across applications
  • Automating integrations between the different applications and surrounding systems
  • Establishing and maintaining a consistent way of working across the test automation landscape

Key Responsibilities

  • Further develop and expand automated regression test scenarios.
  • Proactively gather the necessary requirements and identify relevant test scenarios.
  • Ensure critical E2E flows are covered through automated testing.
  • Develop and maintain separate automated test sets for different entities and environments.
  • Set up automated REST web service tests, potentially using REST Assured.
  • Apply the Page Object Model and maintain a structured automation framework.
  • Work with SQL and test data management to support automated testing.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Work with Docker as part of the test automation environment.
  • Ensure a consistent and maintainable approach is followed across the automation suite.
  • Coach current Scrum team members so they can independently create and maintain automated test scenarios.
  • Coach developers in performing basic test automation activities.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, testers, analysts and other Test Automation Engineers within an Agile environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience designing and implementing automated GUI test scenarios using Selenium and Cucumber.
  • Strong knowledge of Java, which is required for the automation framework.
  • Practical experience with the Page Object Model.
  • Experience testing REST web services and automating API tests.
  • Good knowledge of SQL and test data management.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins.
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Strong communication and coaching skills.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Ability to establish structure and consistency within a test automation environment.

You are a hands-on Test Automation Expert who combines strong technical skills with a proactive and coaching-oriented mindset. You are comfortable working independently, identifying opportunities to increase automation coverage, and collaborating with developers, testers and analysts.

You are able to translate requirements into robust automated test scenarios and are motivated to establish a scalable, maintainable and uniform test automation approach across multiple applications and environments.
