Data Project Manager Position

Location: Brussels

Languages: Dutch/French + English

Start Date: 14/09/2026

End Date: 31/12/2027

Description:

As a Project Manager within the Data & Analytics team, you will play a crucial role in managing projects related to the delivery of data & analytics platforms, data assets, and data products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project delivery from inception to completion.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with management and stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans and associated communication documents.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, recommending changes as necessary.
  • Ensure project deliverables are met within the agreed schedule, scope, budget, and quality standards.
  • Communicate project expectations clearly to team leads and stakeholders.
  • Define and agree on project or service scope and deliverables with all relevant parties.
  • Liaise with business and IT teams continuously.
  • Diagnose and evaluate potential risks and issues, executing plans to mitigate them.
  • Report regularly to the Team Lead and stakeholders regarding risks.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in project management.
  • 10+ years of experience in delivering projects in the Data & Analytics area.
  • Fluent communication in two of the following languages: Dutch, French, and English (spoken and written). Dutch or French at C level, other language at least B2, and English B2.
  • Ability to work on-site at least 2 days per week.
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodology and SAFe (Essentials) is a must.
  • Project Methodology certification (PM² and/or PMBOK) is required.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in delivering Data & Analytics deliverables, including building data platforms, data ingestion, reporting, data science, data exploration, AI/ML.
  • Knowledge of the Azure data stack, SAP, and BW4 is a plus.
  • Familiarity with train planning, passenger transport, train maintenance, HR, Finance, Marketing & Sales processes is advantageous.
  • Strong affinity with IT and its complexities.
  • Demonstrated "can do" work ethic with effective time management skills.
  • ITIL knowledge and experience applying ITIL processes.
  • Experience managing IT projects in the data & analytics area, including scope, planning, budget, and quality management.
  • Ability to facilitate Steerco, project update meetings, and guide resources.
  • Proficient in communicating, presenting, and producing documentation for various audiences.
