Mission Context:
Over the past year, our Marketing and Communication (MarCom) department has embarked on an ambitious agile transformation. A cluster structure with self-organizing, multi-disciplinary squads has been created to enable a more empowered, efficient, and independent approach to planning, cooperation, and delivering qualitative marketing campaigns and other relevant deliverables, with a reduced time to market. Though much progress has been made, we need to keep pushing forward in our agile evolution, both in the practical application of agile and scrum concepts in our way of working, but also in the agile mindset of our leadership and squads. We are looking for an experienced agile coach to accompany us on this challenge, help coach (senior) management, product owners, scrum masters, and other relevant profiles, identify opportunities for further evolution or improvement of our agile working model, and guide the development of our squads and clusters to sustainably embed an effective and value-adding agile way of working in the department.
Function Description:
- Guide the squads, chapters, and individuals in implementing an agile operating model within the larger context of the agile model, adapted to suit the particular needs and scope of our MarCom department.
- Determine the maturity and knowledge of the methodology in the teams to identify suitable techniques.
- Motivate employees to embrace the 'agile way of working,' including their values and behavioral characteristics.
- Coach senior management and other agile leadership roles (scrum masters, product owners, chapter leads) in agile mindset, practical application, and efficient embedding of agile concepts.
- Actively participate in operational meetings of the teams, monitor the quality of methodology use, propose tailor-made work processes, and make recommendations.
- Lead change management aspects related to the new way of thinking for methodology application, including training, mentoring, and individual coaching.
- Tailor training, documentation, and working documents to simplify the learning process and implementation of the methodology in day-to-day operations.
- Ensure optimal knowledge of methodologies used in the entities or target groups.
- Collaborate with relevant profiles such as scrum masters, product owners, chapter leads, or fellow agile coaches to propose, discuss, and implement continuous improvements.
- Facilitate and coordinate agile ceremonies (squad, tribe, guild) or ceremonies around specific themes.
Language Requirements:
- Dutch: Sound knowledge of English and at least one local language (ideally both NL and FR).
- French: Sound knowledge of English and at least one local language (ideally both NL and FR).
- English: Sound knowledge of English and at least one local language (ideally both NL and FR).
Education and Certification:
Certification in one or more methodologies (such as Scrum, Kanban, XP, Lean, Safe, Less, DA, DevOps) used in the field of work.
Required Experience / Knowledge:
- Proven experience in a complex organization for at least 10 years.
- Excellent knowledge of agile operating knowledge in large organizations.
- Experience implementing agile or scrum constructs in non-IT organizations, with a strong preference for experience in marketing & communication organizations.
- Experience facilitating groups, aiding in the learning process, and leveraging team dynamics.
- Experience coaching senior management.
- Experience setting up or adapting organizational Target Operating Models in line with agile concepts.
- Experience with Agile transformation, change management, and cultural embedding is preferable.
- Experience as a trainer.
- Practical experience as a product owner and/or a scrum master.
Business Experience:
Vast experience in coaching is preferable.
