Senior Scrum Master Position

Role: Scrum Master

Location: Brussels (3 days onsite) & remote

Responsibilities:

• Scrum Team Coordination:
  • Ensure sprint commitments are delivered, owning delivery at sprint/release level to meet scope, quality, and timing.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, driving stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives with a focus on outcomes and delivery risks.
  • Act as the scrum team point of escalation, identifying, managing, and escalating blockers or risks that could jeopardize delivery, coordinating with the Tech Lead.
  • Monitor and report delivery progress, maintaining transparent tracking (e.g., Jira dashboards, burn-downs, delivery KPIs) and sharing concise updates with the Tech Lead.
  • Enforce Agile discipline according to defined standards, ensuring backlog hygiene, Definition of Done, test coverage, and quality gates are respected.
• Documentation Traceability:
  • Produce and maintain technical/functional documentation, capturing specifications, architecture notes, and system behavior in clear, structured deliverables.
  • Ensure full traceability by linking requirements, stories, defects, tests, and releases in Jira/ALM tools to guarantee auditability and compliance.
  • Coordinate documentation contributions, consolidating and harmonizing inputs from developers, testers, and architects into consistent documents.
  • Lead document review and approval cycles, organizing review sessions, collecting feedback, managing versions, and securing sign-offs.
• Governance, Quality & Continuous Improvement:
  • Support release readiness and handover to testing/DevOps teams, verifying that test evidence, defect logs, and deliverables are complete before releases.
  • Maintain knowledge repositories, keeping Confluence/SharePoint structured, updated, and easily navigable for the team and stakeholders.
  • Capture lessons learned and improvements, documenting sprint/release learnings and integrating them into future delivery practices.
  • Coach the team on delivery excellence, promoting accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement mindsets within the team.
  • Guarantee compliance with defined standards, ensuring all documentation, processes, and deliveries meet internal, contractual, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Java developer is a strong plus.
• Proven experience in Scrum Master roles.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to manage and escalate risks effectively.
• Experience in documentation and traceability practices.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
