Project Overview:

A monitoring and alerting platform is being implemented based on Splunk products, including Splunk Enterprise, Splunk Enterprise Security, and Splunk IT Service Intelligence. Dynatrace is currently used for troubleshooting purposes. The client aims to reinforce its monitoring team by adding Dynatrace competencies and is looking for a senior consultant with advanced Dynatrace experience to assist in migrating the monitoring platform from Splunk to Dynatrace.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify KPIs to monitor infrastructure components such as storage systems, network components, operating systems (Windows and Linux), virtual infrastructure, servers, databases, time servers, certificate infrastructure, and applications.
• Implement application monitoring based on KPIs delivered by application teams.
• Configure the gathering and retrieval of monitoring data in Dynatrace.
• Set up alerts and associated events (e.g., sending emails, executing code).
• Configure dashboards.
• Enhance Splunk knowledge to meet client expectations.
• Ensure all configurations adhere to best practices.

Consultant Deliverables:

• Identify and document monitoring requirements for infrastructure components and applications.
• Validate future Dynatrace configurations and propose improvements to align with best practices.
• Analyze, implement, test, and deploy new monitoring requirements in Dynatrace.
• Document changes and maintain existing documentation.
• Implement monitoring requirements in Splunk to support the monitoring team during the coexistence of both platforms.
• Analyze, implement, test, and deploy new monitoring requirements in Splunk for simple/small requirements.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience with implementing monitoring requirements in Splunk for large companies with diverse technologies, especially in a virtualized context.
• Certification related to Dynatrace or Splunk is an advantage.
• Proven experience with documenting monitoring requirements, defining monitoring KPIs per asset type, and implementing monitoring requirements in Dynatrace.
• Advanced knowledge of data gathering configuration, alerting, and dashboard creation.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure technologies and their monitoring.
• Advanced knowledge of virtual infrastructure monitoring and integration of Dynatrace Monitoring with vCenter.
• Experience with operational tasks and troubleshooting activities in Dynatrace.
• Good communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes.
• Proficiency in English; native Dutch or French speaking; understanding of both French and Dutch.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with monitoring virtual infrastructure (SDDC, VMware, VRLI, and VRNI) and integration of Dynatrace Monitoring with vCenter.
