Job Title: Business Analyst – Chemistry Applications
Location: Beerse
Responsibilities:
Provide support to business stakeholders on existing applications related to Chemistry-based electronic Laboratory Notebooks (eLN).
Evaluate and communicate the strengths and weaknesses of business processes.
Identify new business requirements and develop strategies to address stakeholder needs by improving information systems, procedures, and process flow.
Document workflows and identify gaps that can be addressed with internal developers.
Perform testing of new enhancements and collaborate closely with the team to deploy new features.
Lead cross-site meetings with internal and external partners.
Promote engagement and commitment of team members and ensure excellent communication between researchers, developers, and vendors.
Attend daily scrum calls to monitor and report progress to the team.
Understand Chemistry workflows and possess working knowledge of Database and Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related subject area is required, with demonstrable experience working with scientific IT applications. A master’s degree and pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience enabling chemistry systems within the pharmaceutical industry.
Foundational skillset in IT, showcasing proficiency in areas such as database management, data engineering, cloud computing concepts, and IT architecture.
Understanding of SDLC and related documentation for non-GxP data systems is desirable.
Experience with commercial chemistry software providers is desirable; examples include Signals ELN, Sapio.
Experience working with sophisticated data solutions in an Agile/Scrum, Cloud-based environment, and deployments at a global scale is preferred.
Strong business sense and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with business partners to understand business requirements and strategy.
Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, multiple partners, multi-functional teams, and evolving needs.
Demonstrable ability to influence, negotiate, and build collaborative partnerships, teams, and trust across functions.
