Mainframe Developer / Analyst Position

Languages Required:
- Fluent in Dutch or French, with a good command of the other national language.

Job Description:
Join the IT department as part of the team of analysts/developers for Group Life Insurance applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the back-end Group Life application on the mainframe.
- Perform reverse engineering to generate technical and functional documentation.
- Serve as a liaison between Business Analysts and users by explaining IT features and documenting them functionally.
- Develop and manage Business-As-Usual (BAU) requests.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Mainframe Knowledge:
- Programming languages: COBOL and/or Mantis
- Databases: DB2 and IMS (DL1)
- Transactional System: CICS
- Business Knowledge:
- At least some knowledge of Individual Life Insurance.
- Knowledge of Group Life Insurance is a major asset.
Desired Skills and Strengths:
- Ability to work independently on all aspects of projects and BAU tasks in a mainframe environment.
- Skilled in reverse engineering and documenting parts of applications.
- Capable of interfacing with various stakeholders (functional analysts, project managers, testers, business analysts, users, etc.).
- Strong communication skills with both internal and external contacts.
- Good problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude toward new tasks and challenges.
- Pragmatic and results-oriented.
- Detail-oriented, with good organizational and critical thinking skills.
- Able to balance detail with a big-picture view.
