We are seeking an experienced Mainframe DEV Engineer to join a team dedicated to improving the developer experience within an agile environment. The role involves providing technical support, defining best practices, and collaborating with mainframe specialists to enhance tools and frameworks. As part of the DevEx tribe, you will work on infrastructure projects, proof of concepts, and customizations of new products while supporting the end-to-end value stream of in-house software development.

Work Regime: 50% on-site, 50% remote

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and guidance to developers and technical analysts.
• Offer advice on quality and performance of mainframe applications.
• Define and document best practices for development squads.
• Coordinate modifications to infrastructure components to improve tools and frameworks.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, proofs of concept, and customizations of new products.

Required Skills and Experience:

• At least 6 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Cobol, IMS, DB2.
• Familiarity with development tools such as Endevor, EDZ, ZOS Connect, IBM/Broadcom tools.
• Extensive experience in managing online and batch applications.
• Solid understanding of mainframe architecture, including hardware, operating systems, networking, databases, and middleware.
• Experience with integration using multiple technologies across distributed and mainframe systems.

Preferred Skills:

• Open DevOps mindset and familiarity with new technologies/frameworks to enhance the mainframe developer experience.
• Experience with tools like Z/OS Explorer, GitLab, Dynatrace, Java, .NET, and Office 365 Access.
• Capacity/performance monitoring and optimization of applicative elements.
• Knowledge of debugging and performance analysis tools like IBM File Manager and Fault Analyzer.

Languages:

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
