Senior Java Developer Opportunity

Work Regime: Full-time, with a minimum of 2 days per week on-site presence required.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join the MutualIT Disability department. The role involves digitalization software development and implementation to automate customer support for Health Insurance providers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop or adapt applications in Java, adhering to development methodologies and user requirements.
• Ensure a thorough understanding of all requirements.
• Translate functional and business analysis into programming language and architecture.
• Collaborate with internal contacts to discuss functional analysis.
• Write programs in the agreed language, maintaining quality standards.
• Conduct Test Driven Development and test programs in an integrated environment using Agile methods.
• Document software and report potential issues, proposing optimal solutions.
• Evaluate the impact of changes on software modules and report potential problems.

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Conduct quality assurance and write test scenarios.
• Test final solutions and document results.
• Solve testing problems and retest.
• Implement improvement actions and best practices in software development.
• Contribute to team development through training and coaching.

Technical Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of Java programming.
• Proficient in software such as MQ, IIB (ACE), and Web Services.
• Strong understanding of Agile and Object-Oriented methodologies.
• Familiarity with tools like JIRA and SVN.
• Proficient in development tools such as SPARX or equivalent.
• Expertise in IBM environments.
• Strong coaching, training, and leadership skills.

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Advanced coursework in technical systems and continued education in technical disciplines is preferred.

Language Proficiencies:

• Proficiency in French and/or Dutch, with a good knowledge of the other language.
• English is a must.
