For a client, we are seeking a Senior Solution Architect who is fluent in both English and German.

Start Date: 1st April 2025

End Date: 31st March 2026 (with potential for extension)

Work Regime: Full-time (40 hours per week)

Location: Brussel (minimum 2 days per week on-site)

Job Description

We are looking for a qualified and dedicated Solution Architect to join the IT Architecture department. The primary mission is to optimize IT infrastructure and the application landscape. The ideal candidate will excel in designing or adapting technical solutions to address business challenges while modernizing the application landscape. The role involves significant interaction with business and IT stakeholders and subject matter experts across Belgium and Germany.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze constraints, non-functional and functional requirements.
  • Conduct decomposition within business capabilities, resulting in relevant Solution Building Blocks using recommended Architectural styles and patterns.
  • Serve as the key link aligning stakeholders in the Product Organization, Architecture team, and delivery team.
  • Ensure solution delivery in accordance with the design.
  • Deliver Architecture Designs in line with the Architecture Vision, standards, and guidelines.
  • Provide designs based on experience in integration design, application architecture, and available tools.
  • Follow governance structures for decision-making in the design lifecycle.

Requirements

  • At least 6 years of relevant experience in Solution Architecture.
  • Agile mindset; experience in an Agile environment is a plus.
  • Experience with IT Standards such as ArchiMate, TOGAF, ATAM, CBAM.
  • Team player open to feedback from peers.
  • Familiarity with Architecture Modeling Languages such as Archimate.
  • Experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect is a significant advantage.
  • Knowledge of Domain Driven Design (DDD) and modern architectural paradigms such as microservices and event-driven architectures.
  • Eagerness to learn, share knowledge, embrace change, and learn from past experiences.
  • Ability to facilitate debates using a whiteboard.
  • Fluent in English and German, as supplier and procurement documentation and meetings will be conducted in these languages.
