Data Analyst

Summary:

This role does not involve development or testing, as these activities are fully outsourced to an IT partner. Your technical expertise will be utilized to assess the quality, completeness, and technical consistency of delivered solutions. You will work closely with the data engineering team and provide support for incidents. You will formulate recommendations for data flows and technical optimizations and act as a bridge between business, internal IT, and the IT partner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Data Product Manager (DPM) and business stakeholders to understand business requirements and data needs, translating them into detailed solution designs, data flows, and actionable work packages for big data engineers.
• Conduct source-to-target analyses (S2T) by analyzing data in depth and documenting data transformations.
• Monitor application evolutions with the DPM to assess data product impact.
• Review overall data model designs and implementations for scalability and applicability.
• Align on cost optimizations with the Techlead and Data Product Manager.
• Design logical data models and data flows that match business reality, focusing on quality by design principles, and consolidate into Epic Solution Design.
• Define user acceptance testing and semantic quality checks.
• Be available for questions and perform intermediate reviews of the Data Engineer's delivery, supporting them in complex bugs and incidents.
• Provide 3rd line support for datasets and coordinate with DPMs and data engineers to resolve incidents or problems.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related education/experience.
• Profound experience in production-level data environments.
• Excellent knowledge of Snowflake and SQL.
• Experience with modern schedulers such as Dagster and Airflow.
• Strong communication skills to effectively present insights and recommendations to business stakeholders, with the ability to challenge others.
• Strong statistical and analytical skills to interpret complex data relations.
• Problem-solving mindset.
• Proficient in English; Dutch skills are a plus.
