Kong Specialist Azure
Brussel, BrusselWe are looking for a Kong Specialist on Microsoft Azure to implement recommendations of the vendor solution in the context of a public API Management solution, namely Traxes, exposed towards our end-customers. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with API gateway solutions, particularly Kong, and a deep understanding of Azure cloud services.

- API Management:
- Design, deploy, and manage API gateways using Kong on Microsoft Azure.
- Ensure seamless integration and operation of APIs within the overall system architecture.
- Cloud Infrastructure Management:
- Manage and maintain the infrastructure on Microsoft Azure using Terraform.
- Optimize API performance and scalability leveraging Azure services.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices for API management, including authentication and authorization with Azure AD.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and internal security policies.
- Monitoring and Optimization:
- Monitor API performance metric using OpenTelemetry s and conduct regular audits.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API performance and reliability.
- Continuously optimize API deployments for improved performance and cost efficiency.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work closely with development teams to design and implement API strategies that support business needs.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members on API-related issues.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of API configurations, policies, and procedures.
- Generate and analyze reports on API usage and performance to inform strategy and decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience with API management tools, specifically Kong.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and its services (e.g. Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Networking, Application gateway, Virtual machines etc.).
- Experience with API design, development, and deployment.
- Understanding of RESTful API principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with security protocols and practices for APIs (OAuth, JWT, SSL/TLS, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Certifications in Microsoft Azure or related technologies.
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
