Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer Opportunity

For a client in Mechelen, we are seeking a skilled Infrastructure and Cloud Engineer.

Location: Mechelen

Responsibilities:

Local Infrastructure Engineering (60%)

• Manage local infrastructure, including life cycle management, OS and firmware patching, backup/restore, monitoring, and optimization.
• Deploy new or replacement systems, including physical or virtual servers, storage components, and Operating Systems in accordance with the Infrastructure Architect.
• Maintain server systems and services such as Active Directory, Entra ID, SQL Server, VMware vCenter, PKI, File and Print services.
• Resolve incidents and problems, and prepare and execute changes in line with ITSM processes.
• Write and maintain documentation of the environment/platform.

Cloud Engineering (30%)

• Deploy new IaaS and PaaS components in accordance with the Cloud Architect.
• Involved in Landing Zone setup and maintenance through DevOps and IaC principles.
• Manage and maintain cloud platform and resources, including patching.
• Support in migrating on-premise resources to the cloud where required.
• Resolve incidents and problems, and prepare and execute changes in line with ITSM processes.
• Write and maintain documentation of the environment/platform.

Governance & Architecture (5%)

• Support in designs and architectures for on-prem and cloud solutions.
• Participate in meetings with third parties (vendors) on products and services.
• Participate in CAB meetings.

Domain Knowledge (5%)

• Retain domain knowledge and follow infrastructure and cloud-related trends, including maintaining relevant certifications.

Compliance:

• Perform all tasks in accordance with ISO quality and JSOX requirements, while always taking company values into account.
• Perform all tasks in accordance with ISO 27001 and NIS2 security requirements.

Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications in infrastructure and cloud technologies.
• Experience with ITSM processes.
• Proficiency in managing both on-premise and cloud environments.
• Strong documentation skills.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with Active Directory, SQL Server, VMware, and cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively with architects and third-party vendors.
