Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Business Analyst to join the API Centre of Excellence (CoE) squad. As the Senior Technical Business Analyst, you will serve as the key interface between business and IT stakeholders and the API CoE IT team. The API CoE is instrumental in enabling the effective development and management of APIs, establishing standards and guidelines, and providing development libraries and project templates. Your role will involve ensuring the API Ecosystem evolves to meet the expected level of maturity for both internal and external clients.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary interface between IT teams and specific business/functional areas.
- Lead the business scope definition of projects, interacting with sponsors/customers to determine strategy and evaluate feasibility.
- Understand and assess client business operations, identifying issues and opportunities, and recommending appropriate business solutions.
- Translate business requirements and processes into structured documentation.
- Elicit business functional and non-functional requirements and create business process diagrams.
- Facilitate the implementation and deployment of system changes to stakeholders, providing support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Guard the project business scope and control deviations from that scope.
- Support IT colleagues through the project development process, including testing and deployment phases.
- Lead a small team of business analysts in progressing business cases or analysis for projects.
- Contribute to the development of business cases and perform risk and impact analysis.
- Persuade senior managers of the benefits of change in situations where there is resistance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive experience in business analysis and requirement elicitation techniques and methodologies.
- Proven track record in leading analysis for significant business change projects.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of business operations and IT development and implementation processes.
- Ability to work and think at a high level within a specific functional business environment and related IT systems.
- Experience in business requirements and process analysis, as well as implementation of changes to existing business processes and related IT solutions.
Desired Skills:
- Expertise in API governance, lifecycle, management systems, developer portals, and security.
- Ability to propose expert advice and counsel for managing the API lifecycle.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and emerging standards in API development.
