Windows Server Solution Architect (Consultant)

Responsibilities:
Solution Architecture:
- Design new solutions and enhance existing Windows infrastructures.
- Provide technical expertise and support for architectural decisions, collaborating with enterprise architects and other teams.
- Document and standardize designs to simplify future implementations.
Implementation and Management:
- Lead the implementation of new systems and upgrades in the Windows environment.
- Optimize the performance, availability, security, and reliability of Windows systems.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines.
Security:
- Implement 'security by design' in all solutions.
- Work closely with the IT security team to identify and address security risks.
- Assist in handling security incidents and conduct proactive security reviews.
Operational Support:
- Resolve complex incidents and technical challenges within the Windows environment (3rd line).
- Ensure timely and effective problem-solving during operational disruptions.
- Share best practices and knowledge with colleagues to continuously improve the team.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Extensive experience with Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022).
- Proficiency in Active Directory management and migrations.
- Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or AHV.
- Knowledge of storage solutions and integration with Windows environments.
- Familiarity with database systems, including SQL and Oracle (optional).
- Expertise in automation and configuration management (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible).
- Understanding of network protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, etc.).
- Experience in designing and managing high-availability and failover solutions.
- Strong focus on IT security and compliance, including experience with hardening, patch management, and auditing tools.
- Analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, including external parties.
Language Proficiency:
Fluent in English and Dutch
