Windows Server Solution Architect (Consultant)

Duration: 3 months (extendable)

Responsibilities:

Solution Architecture:

• Design new solutions and enhance existing Windows infrastructures.
• Provide technical expertise and support for architectural decisions, collaborating with enterprise architects and other teams.
• Document and standardize designs to simplify future implementations.

Implementation and Management:

• Lead the implementation of new systems and upgrades in the Windows environment.
• Optimize the performance, availability, security, and reliability of Windows systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal guidelines.

Security:

• Implement 'security by design' in all solutions.
• Work closely with the IT security team to identify and address security risks.
• Assist in handling security incidents and conduct proactive security reviews.

Operational Support:

• Resolve complex incidents and technical challenges within the Windows environment (3rd line).
• Ensure timely and effective problem-solving during operational disruptions.
• Share best practices and knowledge with colleagues to continuously improve the team.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Extensive experience with Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022).
• Proficiency in Active Directory management and migrations.
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware or AHV.
• Knowledge of storage solutions and integration with Windows environments.
• Familiarity with database systems, including SQL and Oracle (optional).
• Expertise in automation and configuration management (e.g., PowerShell, Ansible).
• Understanding of network protocols and services (DNS, DHCP, LDAP, etc.).
• Experience in designing and managing high-availability and failover solutions.
• Strong focus on IT security and compliance, including experience with hardening, patch management, and auditing tools.
• Analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, including external parties.

Language Proficiency:

Fluent in English and Dutch
