Microsoft Power BI Expert

For a client, we are seeking a Microsoft Power BI Expert to join their team on a short-term basis with the possibility of extension.

Contract Duration: As soon as possible for 2 months (with potential for extension)

Location: Brussels, with the option for remote work

Role Objectives:

• Implement a Power BI governance framework to ensure a robust, scalable, and secure solution.
• Integrate all components seamlessly within the specified timeframe and budget.

Deliverables:

• A configured Power BI governance framework.
• Operational data gateways connected.
• Development and deployment pipelines established.
• Comprehensive training materials provided and training sessions completed.
• Detailed governance documentation.

Role Responsibilities:

• Architectural Design Review: Ensure the Power BI governance blueprint aligns with business and technical requirements.
• Environment Setup: Configure development, testing, validation, and production environments. Set up Power BI Service workspaces with proper access controls.
• Data Integration: Establish secure data connections and configure data gateways.
• Governance Framework Implementation: Define roles, set up access control, and develop policies for data management.
• Development and Deployment Processes: Implement a DevOps framework and use Power BI Service deployment pipelines for content promotion.
• Monitoring and Alerting: Track user activity and configure alerts for system metrics.
• Training and Documentation: Conduct training sessions and create detailed documentation.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience in implementing Power BI governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with Azure SQL Database, SQL Server, SAP BW, and data integration.
• Experience with DevOps practices and deployment pipelines in Power BI Service.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools and setting up alerts.

Desired Skills and Certifications:

• Expertise in Power BI architectural design and environment setup.
• Proficiency in role-based access control and row-level security.
• Ability to develop comprehensive training materials and governance documentation.

Language Proficiency:

Full professional proficiency in English is required.
